2005 Sledtrip

2005’s trip went great! Temperatures were a little on the warm side, but with the 30″ average base of snow on the pure white trails, no one was complaining. We suffered no faulty equipment from the rental place this year and the guys even got to use some kick ass polaris RMKs (Rocky Mountain Kings). No damage of any equipment this year, and we only suffered one or two missed turns. None of which landed me off the trail in deep snow as it did the previous year.
We traveled more miles than ever before on this two day trip and even found a trail we never used before. To everyone’s liking it was a closed road that was thirty feet wide, with sweeping turns, and a surface that allowed for some amazing riding. This new trail got us to the lake of the clouds scenic overlook allot faster and easier than in previous years. Our luck continued into day 2 where we were able to loop around some of the same trails twice to take extra time before lunch. After lunch we took a nice easy stroll back to Houghton and arrived around 6:30 - 7 to return the rentals. All in all a great trip that hopefully can be repeated (but not duplicated) next year!
